A march through the streets of downtown Saint Paul from the Union Depot in lower town culminated in a massive rally at the State Capitol against the continued mining of tars sands in Canada and the western United States and the pipelines that ship the dirty bituminous to market. Among those sponsoring the event was 350.org. Founder of 350.org. Bill McKibbon, spoke about the imperative of halting global warming and reversing climate change, as did members of local indigenous tribes, among others. Occupy Saint Paul set up a booth on the mall and distributed literature.
